What's the Best Time of Year to Visit Egypt?

Egypt has a hot desert climate, and the difference between seasons is real. The cooler months — roughly November through February — are the most comfortable time to be out sightseeing during the day, especially in Upper Egypt around Luxor and Aswan, where summer heat is intense. If your priority is spending long days at the monuments without rushing back to shade, this is the easiest window.

March, April, and October sit in between — still warm, generally more comfortable than peak summer, and often with better availability and pricing than the winter high season. Summer (June through August) is genuinely hot, particularly south of Cairo, though the Red Sea coast stays more bearable thanks to sea breezes and is a reasonable time for a beach-focused trip.
